The Tandem Relay Team Leader is responsible for the participation of the F-guild in Tandem. Tandem is a competition in tandem cycling that takes place every year when there is no Carnival, and is about cycling as close as possible to the magic time from Gothenburg to Lund. It is important to work with the Minister of Culture as well as with the Sports Minister because it is a very big event.
The Tandem General should also keep good contact with tandem representatives in other guild. It requires some time before Tandem which is usually in the month of May.
The Minister of Culture is the committee chairman of the Ministry of Culture and is therefore responsible for all activities within the committee. This entails responsibility of arranging the most and best events and bus trips for the F-guild. This position also includes budget responsibility for the entire Ministry of Culture, incl. the song contest. In addition to this, you are a member of the F-section committee.
It is important to be able to coordinate and lead the work in the various parts of the committee. There are many others within the committee who take great responsibility for their own activities, but as chairman of the committee, you must always be prepared to be on hand and contribute as best you can.
Being a Minister of Culture requires a lot of time, of course it does matter how ambitious you are, but it is a fairly high minimum regardless. The post itself sometimes causes stress because it involves a lot of responsibility, so good planning and communication within the committee and with the rest of the section is important.
As the Song contest team leader, you have the overall responsibility to ensure that the F-guild has a contribution to the TLTH Song contest and that it is performed. Being a Song contest team leader is quite a demanding job, as there are many things to coordinate and to make work, but it makes it easier to be three people sharing the responsibility and to have close contact with the Minister of Culture. The time commitment is not so great during most of the year, but in the months before the Song contest itself there is more to do. It is a definite advantage to have participated in the Song Contest yourself, or to have experience of other performing arts or theatre.
The Sports Foreman convenes the athletes and leads their meetings with the assistance of the Minister of Culture. The Sports Foreman is responsible for finding opportunities for physical activity for the members of the Guild and is also responsible for the guild's sports equipment. The workload is entirely dependent on how much the athletes want to organize. They assist the Minister of Culture in the disposition of the finances for sports activities. The position requires the ability to plan things well and to allocate responsibilities well. Being interested in sports and having fun ideas on events is also a big advantage.
As Reisemeister you’re responsible for leading and summoning Reiseleiteriet. The Reisemeister makes sure there are fun events and activities for the guild to attend, the main part of the job being the administrative side. You also make sure that everybody in Reiseleiteriet are doing well. Apart from this, the Reisemeister is responsible for organizing a “thanks-event” one time per semester for all the workers of the guild. Together with the sports foreman, you help support the Minister for Culture in their work.
You do not have any responsibility for the budget, however you help with earning and spending money. The amount of time the post takes up differs quite a lot, depending on upcoming events. You can count on a few hours of planning each week, plus the time for the actual events. Overall the work takes around five hours per week, except for during the nollning, which takes up a lot of time. By planning your work well and having a good communication with the Minister of Culture and Reiseleiteriet the work is not that stressful.
Being a good communicator is an important quality for a Reisemeister, both for successful events and for making sure that the workers in Reiseleiteriet are doing well.
As a Reiseleiter, you organise events to entertain the guild. The Reiseleiter is convened by the Reisemeister but also has good contact with the Minister of Culture and the other sections of the Committee. The Reiseleter gets to use their imagination in many ways to maximise the enjoyment that members of the guild get from an activity and from spending time with each other. As a Reiseleiter, you will be given a lot of scope to carry out your own projects and it is almost a requirement that you are an inventive thinker in order to get the most out of the post. In addition, there are post-specific tasks within the Reiseleiter such as selling F-stuff, organising officials' thanks event, planning games and arranging bus trips. How much time the post takes is very much up to each individual as you largely choose how much time you want to put in.
Athletes are members of the Ministry of Culture and are responsible for carrying out activities of a sporting nature. As an athlete, you have the opportunity to be creative and can carry out appreciated things for members interested in sports, such as holding activities weekly, starting teams in tournaments or other major activities such as the health week that is organized once a year or different kinds of tournaments.
